Fictive Books

Fictive Books is fighting for children’s literacy. Most elementary school students read below their grade level, yet 90% of kids play video games. Our interactive, branching narrative stories leverage the the best parts of gaming to focus attention on developing reading skills. We employ exciting visuals, level progression and choice empowerment to make reading a fun and attractive alternative to video games.

Our philosophy

Reading should be entertainment

Reading should be entertainment

As adults, we don't bring a book on vacation because a teacher told us to, we do it because we enjoy it. Fictive Books are designed first and foremost to be entertaining and fun!

Time spent is what matters

Time spent is what matters

International data shows a simple fact: Kids who read for pleasure are more successful in life. Unfortunately, Most teenagers spend an average of 6 minutes reading a day and 65% of all 4th graders read below level. Our books are built to safely encourage children to keep coming back day after day.

Self-concept is key

Self-concept is key

"I am a reader" is an important part of children's self-identity. Our app constantly rewards children for their reading accomplishments and builds self confidence that they are a READER.
